Danae Govender
B.Com (Honours) graduate of the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) currently awaiting feedback on my Master of Commerce (Economics) dissertation, having already completed the coursework component. I am a strong believer in evidence-based decision-making with particular interests in environmental economics and international trade. As such, my prior (academic) research was within the aforementioned realms. Among these was an analysis of the potential benefits which could result from the implementation of a carbon tax in South Africa. In addition, I quantitatively investigated the growth effects of international trade in emerging market economies. Although I am only at the very beginning of my career, based on the path on which it has begun, I am optimistic of its trajectory. I am lover of animals and a proud dog-parent of two. I am also an enthusiast of various sports, including traditional martial arts and association football (Manchester City Football Club supporter).
